His based is marked with his sire and dam: Gee by Rarsee

Grande was a 1948 German Thoroughbred racehorse whose sire was Ticino and whose dam was Grossularia by Aurelius.
Ticino won the German Derby in 1942.

This was a potrait sculpture. Birkhahn was a German
racehorse sired by Alchimist (above). He won the German
Derby in 1948, one of two sons of Alchimist to do so.
Out of 22 starts he had 16 wins.
